STC Training Student Places First in Europe
An Advanced Diploma student at STC Training has placed first out of all the students in Europe who completed the NCC education course in 2013.
Jonathan Apap was awarded the Regional High Achiever award at the STC awards ceremony held on 29 January. Mr Apap undertook the evening course NCC Education Advanced Diploma in Computing which ran over 18 months. Mr Apap is a programmer and may now move on to complete the final year of one of the BSc (Hons) degree in computing through Middlesex University Malta.
To receive the Regional High Achiever award, a student must get the highest average marks on the programme in the region. There are five regions: Europe, East Asia/Hong Kong SAR, Africa and the Caribbean, South East Asia and South Asia and the Middle East.
Speaking about his achievement, Mr Apap said: “I am honoured to have received the Regional High Achiever award. All the hard work paid off and I am very grateful for the great guidance I received at STC. “ Forty-three students were awarded certificates by STC CEO Mr Patrick Pullicino for completing short courses in 2013 in IT Essentials, Java, Advanced Web, Ethical Hacking, SQL In Practice, Web Design and Photoshop and Web Marketing. The awards ceremony is one of four held every year.
The part-time courses are held in the evening and see students from all walks of life including soldiers, policemen, factory workers and printers who want to advance in their career.
